Check the device requirements on the listing page before installing. Older devices may not support the latest version. If your device cannot run the latest version, use the publisher's mobile website instead of installing an outdated APK.

What to do after you install the official app
Turn on automatic updates
Open your device's app-store settings and turn on automatic updates for the publisher's app. The publisher pushes bug fixes and security patches regularly. Missing an update can leave the app vulnerable to known issues that the publisher has already patched on the server.
Enable notifications you actually want

The publisher name appears under the app title on the listing page. Tap the publisher name to see every other app the publisher offers. A genuine publisher has many apps under the same name.
On Google Play Store
The publisher name appears under the app title on the listing page. Tap "About this app" to see the developer name and contact information. A genuine publisher has a developer website that resolves to the publisher's own domain.
If the publisher name does not match
Do not install. Search the publisher's own website for the official app store link, then navigate from the publisher's website to the listing page. The listing page you reach from the publisher's own link is the safe one.
What permissions the official app actually needs
The publisher's official app requests the minimum permissions it needs to function. The list below is the typical permission set for a major fantasy sports app.
- Notifications: to send injury news, waiver deadlines, draft reminders, trade offers.
- Network access: to load league data, scores, and news.
- Local storage: to cache your roster and settings offline.
The official app does not need: contacts access, microphone access, camera access (unless you opt in to a camera-based feature), location access, or background app refresh for non-essential features. If the official app requests any of these, verify on the publisher's website that the request is intentional before granting the permission.
Permission audit
