What we collect and what we do not

We do not collect ESPN account credentials. We do not host login forms. We do not host payment forms. We do not sell your data.
We may collect anonymous analytics about which pages on this site are visited and which links are followed. That data is used to improve the editorial product, not to build a profile of you.

If you have an account with the publisher of ESPN Fantasy, your data lives with the publisher, not with us. We cannot access it and we cannot delete it. Use the publisher's privacy and account-management tools to control your data with them.
The short list of data we may collect
The data we collect falls into three categories: the data you give us, the data the browser gives us, and the data our hosting gives us.
1 — Data you give us
If you email us, we receive your email address and the content of your message. If you subscribe to our newsletter (when it exists), we receive your email address and your name. We do not require an account to read this site.
2 — Data the browser gives us
If you visit this site, your browser sends standard HTTP request data: IP address, user-agent string, referrer, and the page you are requesting. We use this data to serve the page, detect abuse, and produce anonymous traffic analytics. We do not associate this data with your identity unless you have given us your email address.
3 — Data our hosting gives us
Our hosting provider stores server access logs for a short period (typically 7 days). The logs include your IP address, the request URL, and the response status. The logs are used for debugging and security. We do not share the logs with third parties except as required by law.
How to request access to or deletion of your data

What we do not log

When we share logs
We share logs with law enforcement only when compelled by a valid legal order. We do not share logs with third-party analytics providers, advertisers, or social-media companies. We do not use logs to build a profile of any individual reader.
What we do for under-18 readers
This site is intended for readers aged 18 and older. The editorial content covers real-money contests, account safety, and tax treatment — topics that are not relevant to under-18 readers. We do not knowingly collect data from under-18 readers.
If you are under 18 and have submitted data to this site (for example, by emailing us), please ask a parent or guardian to contact us so we can delete the data.
Where your data may be processed
Our hosting infrastructure may store and process data in jurisdictions other than your own. The hosting provider publishes its processing locations and its data-residency commitments; we use a hosting provider that publishes clear commitments.
Where the data lives
At the time of writing, the data we collect is processed in the United States and the European Union. The hosting provider uses standard contractual clauses for cross-border transfers. We do not transfer your data to other third parties.
Indian users
If you are an Indian user, your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States or the European Union under the hosting provider's standard contractual clauses. India does not currently restrict cross-border transfers of personal data for hosting purposes; if this changes, we will update this notice.
How we update the privacy notice
We update this privacy notice from time to time as our practices evolve. When we make a material change, we update the "Last reviewed" date at the top of this page and add a short note explaining what changed.
If the change requires user consent under applicable law, we will request consent before the change takes effect. If you do not consent to the change, you may stop using the site or contact us to delete your data.

We apply the standard data-protection principles to every piece of data we collect. The principles below summarise how each principle maps to our practice.

We delete data after we no longer need it. The retention periods below are the maximum. We may delete data earlier.
Integrity and confidentiality
We protect your data with reasonable security measures. We use HTTPS for transport, restrict access to those who need it, and review our security posture quarterly.
Accountability
We document our processing activities, train our team on data protection, and review this notice annually. If we change a substantive practice, we tell you.
How long we keep your data
The retention periods below are the maximum. We may delete data earlier if it is no longer needed.
- Newsletter subscription: until you unsubscribe.
- Editorial correspondence: 24 months from the last exchange, then deleted.
- Server access logs: 7 days, then deleted automatically.
- Backups: 30 days rolling, then overwritten.
When we delete data, we delete it from our live systems within the retention period and from our backups within 30 days after that.
